To finish off the “Designing a new Website” series, we’ve put together a video for you where we walk through this site, explaining our thoughts and principles behind some of its features.

In this video we talk about some of the concepts behind this site and how we used the methodologies described in our series to build it.

You learn about our priorities - deciding what elements are the most important on this site (e.g. articles are more important than the sidebar).

You also hear about the process of designing this site - how we started designing the most important element first and then went on to the second most important element.

Finally, we start talking about the importance of proximity and the importance of getting the distance between related and unrelated elements just right.

Do you have any tips and tricks on how to design something from scratch without any data to guide your design decisions?
